Desert Adventures
Day 1 – Tangier – Chefchaouen
We pick you up at the airport or port of Tangier, we will start our trip by driving through the Rif mountains and the city of Tetouan to enjoy the views of the beautiful mountains until we reach Chefchaouen. In fact, it is one of the impressive villages at the foot of the Rif mountains. Chefchaouen medina had a Spanish style square surrounded by many craft shops, rooftop restaurants and cafes where you will spend the night in a nice place to enjoy the breeze and the beauty of nature.
Day 2 – Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Meknes – Fes
After your breakfast in the riad, we will start driving towards Volubilis crossing through Wazan and other rif villages. So, in Volubilis, we will discover the Roman ruins and learn about the archaeological site of Moroccan history. After the visit of the ruins, we will drive to the 17th century heritage city of Meknes, where we will stop for lunch and hang out. walls of the medina, bab el mansour and enjoy a visit to the sanctuary of moulay ismail. After the visit of Meknes, we will go directly to the city of Fes, where you will spend the night in the riad.
Day 3 – Excursion to Fes
After breakfast in your riad, you will start to explore the oldest city in Morocco, walking through its alleys and small streets. Therefore, our visit begins by visiting the gate of the Royal Palace, the Jewish barracks, the first Mellah built in Morocco, built during the 16th century. First of all, we will make sure that you visit all the sites with cultural and historical interest, including the famous Al Karaouine University, the oldest in the region, the tanneries, the Attarine museum and the Mulay Idriss mausoleum. After lunch, you will continue your Morocco Tours Tangier, visiting the tile cooperative and then you will experience a wonderful panoramic view of the entire Medina of Fez.
Day 4 – Fes Ifrane – Midelt – Ziz Valley – Erfoud – Merzouga Desert
On this day we will start our journey to the southeast through the middle Atlas through Ifrane “the Moroccan Switzerland” and then Azrou, where we will make a stop at the famous cedar forest, the largest in Morocco to see and play with the monkeys. of Barbary. From here we head south passing through several villages and you will have the chance to see the nomads living in tents along the way. Then we will stop in Midelt where you will enjoy your lunch. Later, we continue our journey to Merzouga through the TiziN’Talghomt pass (1907m) while enjoying the panoramic views. You will also have a stop for a panoramic view of the Aoufous palmeraie along the Ziz river. At the end of the day we will continue to the captivating dunes of Erg Chebbi, where you will spend the night in Riad or Hotel.
Day 5 – Merzouga – Erg Chebbi Dunes – Khamlia – Merzouga Desert
After breakfast, you can explore the local area for a bit before starting your camel ride; You will visit the Gnawa people, originally from Mali, Senegal and Sudan, in their village Khamlia, where you will learn about their music and lifestyle. Later, we will drive through the desert area to meet nomadic families to explore their way of life. Today our lunch will be a traditional berber meal (berber pizza). You will have the option to visit the ancient city of Rissani, the foundation of the Alaouite dynasty, the current ruling royal family in Morocco. Rissani is surrounded by some 360 ksar (a fortified village with many towers) and has a large souk (an open-air market), which is held three times a week. Once called Sijilmassa, this was the meeting place for the salt caravans, coming from Timbuktu in Mali. Here you will walk through the souk, selling spices, vegetables and clothes. Return to the town of Merzouga. In the afternoon, you will ride a camel, guided by an experienced camel driver, to explore what is hidden in the middle of the highest sand dunes in Morocco. Dinner will be served in front of the tent where you will spend the night.
Day 6 – Merzouga – Todra Gorges – Tinghir – Dades Valley
In the morning after seeing the sunrise over the dunes of the Sahara and having breakfast, we will return to our Hotel in dromedaries. Then we will drive through Rissani, Todra Gorge. There we will enjoy the rock canyon and have a traditional Moroccan lunch. We take a short walk through the gorge before arriving at the Dades Valley for dinner and accommodation.
Day 7 – Dades Valley – Valley of the Roses – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah – Marrakech
After breakfast, we will travel through the Dades Valley towards the Valley of the Roses and Ouarzazate. Since the route through the Dades Valley is the path of a thousand kasbahs. It provides plenty of opportunities to take some of your best photo shots of the trip. Later, we will stop at Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah for lunch, the largest Kasbah in Morocco, built by T-hami El Glaoui, one of the last Berber chieftains in the early 20th century, used to be one of his stops. during his long journey from the Sahara to Marrakech, now the kasbah is one of the UNESCO heritage sites. After that, we will change the way to cross the high atlas mountains full of panoramic views and attractive berber villages along the way to Marrakech. Then we will spend the night in an elegant riad in the medina.
Day 8 – Excursion to Marrakech
In the morning, after having breakfast in the riad, we explore Marrakech, “the red city of Morocco”, we will make sure that you see the most important sites of historical and cultural interest. First of all, the Majorelle Gardens, the Koutoubia Tower, the Saadian Tombs, the Bahia Palace. Then after lunch at a restaurant near the square, you will walk through the souks and see hundreds of handicrafts. In the afternoon, you will have some free time to wander around the other parts of the city. Spend the night on the road.
Day 9 – Day trip to the city of Essaouira
After breakfast in your riad, you will start traveling to the coastal city of Essaouira, exploring the city. We will make sure to visit the Skala Fortress; see Thuya wood carved by artisans. Then walk through the alleys of the medina and see hundreds of handicrafts. This “Windy City” attracts surfers from all over the world. Essaouira knew many civilizations, including the Portuguese occupation. Therefore, they affect much of your architecture; however, it is still a small town with a lot of history. Due to its size and its characteristic blue doors and washed walls. It is also considered the “Jewel of the Atlantic” of Morocco. So you will also visit the Argan oil women’s cooperative. Here they extract the oil that is famous for its culinary, cosmetic and medicinal properties. Lunch will be Moroccan style: fresh fish “cooked to order” at the fish market. Then in the afternoon you will travel back to Marrakech. Finally night in your riad.
Day 10 – Marrakech Airport
Transfer to the airport of Marrakech or Casablanca, end of our Tour.
