Exploring Morocco from Agadir

Day 1 – Agadir – Essaouira

We pick you up at the airport, you will start your tour to visit the city of Agadir. With its stunning beach and corniche, souks, historic kasbah and abundant cafes, you can be as busy or relaxed as you like. After that, we head to Essaouira, a wonderfully relaxed coastal fishing village where you can explore the Phoenician, Berber, Portuguese, Jewish and French past in the well-preserved architecture, small alleyways and charming medina. Wander the quiet squares, browse the craft shops and galleries, and check out the ‘yours’ woodwork found only in Morocco or head to the port to see the catch of the day.

Day 2 – Essaouira – Sidi Lmakhtar – Marrakech

This morning, after breakfast in Essaouira, we can relax for the first part of the afternoon before leaving for Marrakech through the picturesque inland road with the forest of argan trees (sometimes with goats!) that only exist in this region of the world. Stop at argan oil cooperatives along this relaxing journey. Overnight in Road.

Day 3 – Sightseeing tour of Marrakech

After breakfast at the Riad, you can start exploring Marrakech, “the red city of Morocco”. Your guide will ensure that you see the most important historical and cultural sights, including the Saadien Tombs; the Palaces of El Bahia and El Badi and the Ben Youssef Coranique School. Lunch is in a restaurant near the square, then in the afternoon you will see the Majorelle gardens, Menara and the Koutoubia tower. After dinner, you will have the opportunity to walk around the ‘Plaza Jemaa El Fna’ full of magicians, storytellers, snake charmers and food vendors. Night in hotel or riad.

Day 4 – Casablanca – Rabat – Meknes – Fes

After breakfast, your guide will pick you up in the city of Casablanca, where you will visit the Hassan II Mosque, the largest outside of Mecca, and experience Cornwall’s coastal coastline. Later, we will leave for Rabat, the capital of Morocco. Here, you will see the Hassan Tower, the Oudaya Kasbah before checking into your Riad in the heart of Medina. Night in a Riad.

Day 6 – Fes – Ifran – Midelt – Rich – Imilchil

After breakfast our journey will start to Middelt passing through Ifrane to Azrou which is covered by cedar forest where there are wild monkeys. So we could take some beautiful photos with them and the food will be in Zaida or Middelt. After that we drive to the Ziz valley through the Atlas Mountains and enjoy seeing the Middelt landscapes. Then, we head to the Rich City as we explore some Berber tribes that still live there, even in bad weather. We will arrive in Imilchil in the late afternoon before checking into your hotel; Auberge Tislit next to the beautiful Tislit lake. Dinner Accommodation and breakfast.

Day 7 – Imilchil – Todra Gorges – Erfoud – Merzouga desert

After breakfast, we will leave Imilchil towards the Todra Gorges, the highest and narrowest gorges in Morocco, with panoramic views of the ancient mud Berber villages that dominate the valley, lunch will be under the high red cliff of the gorge. Continuing our journey to Erfoud and Rissani, then through the open black desert to the village of Merzouga, where we will be welcomed with a glass of mint tea before walking with the camels for about 1 hour, having dinner and spending the night in a tent. Day 8 – Merzouga – Rissani – Nkob – Draa Valley – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou

After taking a photo of the sunrise and having breakfast, we will do a camel trek back to the village of Merzouga. On our way, you will not fail to appreciate the unique beauty of the spectacular Erg Chebbi dunes, which change with the light as the day progresses. Arriving in Merzouga late in the morning and after shower at the hotel, we will depart for Rissani, once Sijilmassa, the foundation of the Alaouite dynasty, the current ruling family. With most of the women veiled and the men hooded, this is a very traditional Moroccan town. We will continue driving towards Agdz, through Alnif and Tazarine, we will have lunch in N’koub before reaching the fascinating Draa Valley on the edge of the Atlas Mountains, along which hundreds of Berber kasbahs are located, dinner and overnight in Ait Benhaddou.

Day 9 – Ait Ben Haddou – Taznakhte – Taliouine – Taroudant

Departure from Ait ben-haddou towards Taroudant, descending towards Tazenakht, an important center for carpet weaving. Now we will be in the country of saffron! Stop in Taliouine and visit the saffron museum, or time your visit for the saffron harvest festival in October. Continue to Taroudant. Night in Taroudant.

Day 10 – Taroudant – Agadir

After breakfast, travel to the airport for your departure flight, finish our 10 days Tour from Agadir.
